If you happen to be conservative in outlook and not wanting to be subject to Shari'a, as I am, then get ready for slander and calumny on expressing yourself. But more interesting than the name-calling are the factual mistakes. Over and over again, I – like so many conservatives – find myself consistently having my words or my intent distorted and having to correct the record.
I brought together dozens of such instances at a weblog entry titled "Department of Corrections (of Others' Factual Mistakes about Me)." In addition, I wrote up some of the particularly colorful and demonstrably distorted cases in a listing that will be updated as needed (and needed, sadly, it will be):
"Newsweek's "Periscope" Gets It Wrong." DanielPipes.org, September 27, 2004. Hussein Ibiah and Lorraine Ali in combination, and the truth flees for its life.
"The Japanese Internment, CAIR, and Me," DanielPipes.org, December 28, 2004. Juan Cole cannot read plain words.

Walt four times over four years mention me in connection with Campus Watch, and every time they make mistakes about Campus Watch.
"Is Tariq Ramadan Lying [about Magdi Allam]?" FrontPageMagazine.com, March 5, 2007. Tariq Ramadan, ace Islamist, fabricates what I said at a London conference in 2007 which he attended.

Comments: (1) What is it about Leftists and Islamists that they cannot read straight? Is it the influence of post-modernism or plain old shoddy habits? (2) There is no parallel here. I know of no Leftist or Islamist who has or could compile such a listing of egregious mistakes.
