Jews in GazaReader comment on item: Sharon Loses His Way On Israeli 'Settlements' Submitted by Yuval Brandstetter (Israel), Feb 21, 2004 at 05:06 Dear Mr PipesIn principle I agree with everything you said. No Israeli withdrawal will effect a change of heart; conversely, it will whet the appetite to have it all. On the other hand, Gaza is where Palestinian sovereignty can be established immediately, and a place where recalcitrant Arabs who insist on pursuing terror as a way to exterminate the Jews can be extradited. The Gaza strip borders are defensible, and rockets can be subdued with aitborne military means. In fact, Arabs are so afraid of this solution, they have done everything to avert it. As a soldier who has served in Gaza I know the Jewish situation there is untenable. As for Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem, they cannot be truly, geographically separated, by any means, including the Fence, and there warfare shall continue untill one of the sides gives up.
