Historian Daniel Pipes says according leaks from the White House, President Trump is poised to offer a Middle East 'settlement' that includes recognising Palestine as a state.
Palestinian media has reported the Trump administration will unveil a plan in the coming months that will call for, among other things, recognition of East Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state.
Mr Pipes has told Sky News this proposal, if true, will like lead to a fracturing of the relationship between President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
