"Five and dime" solution?

Your nostalgic piece "Oh, for a 'five and dime' again!" got me 'thinking. If we cannot contain inflation properly; then why not do as the French did in the early 1960s, divide our currency by a hundred? A fine dinner for 10 cents, a few dollars for rent, $70 for a new car, and $500 for a yacht? The dollar will be sounder than ever.
