It Wasn't "Terrorism"

Horrible as it was, the October suicide bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut was not terrorism. It was an attack on a military installation and therefore within the internationally accepted terms of warfare.
It is a mistake to debase the word terrorism by applying it to any repugnant use of force.
