My mom and dad are from Ramhormoz. I have been in many parts of Khozestan where Ahwaz is.

There are a few arabs living in khozestan specially after iran-iraq war i have heard their number has increase speically in ahwaz!

Each arab makes/has like 10 kids and several wives! it's like black in the US after command of Luther KING! hehe

Arabs has settled in iran after Omar Attacked and invaded Iran. so it must be after 600BC. the famous iranian city: Shoosh danial is the famous city that was resisting against attack of arabs.

Just a piece of advice: I wouldn't ask them either. If they are not arabs they will be extreemly offended if you tell them you are arabs! unless I am sure!
