Worthy thoughtReader comment on item: Cut Gaza's power? Submitted by Van Dola (United States), Sep 9, 2007 at 07:47 For many years a complete disengagement from Gaza was suggested, that is: everything. No passage, no commerce, no water, electricity or phone services as it was before the mistaken entry in June 1967. let them shoot each others in the long night-gowns as it was the custom in the 60's! Many Israeli manufacturers complain of the losses yet when it comes to collect on the invoices they usually have difficulties-it has become a known scam. Many "buyers" from Gaza used to appear in Tel-Aviv and buy on credit. Many never paid their creditors with the explanation that they were prevented from re-entry. Depending on Gaza for sawing bundled clothes or growing tomatoes cannot justify the dangers and tremendous costs of maintaining staff to secure the border crossing-contracted to a private security firm like in the U.S. Israel is at war with hostile Arabs in Gaza. Why remain attached to this costly and unrewarding responsibility. If Egypt benefits from the weapon smuggling and increasing anarchy, let them care for the sick and provide passage to the departing and leave Israel out of this cancer.
