religion of peace - surely not islamReader comment on item: Saudi Arabian Airlines Cleans Up Its Act Submitted by Esmeralda (Slovakia), Sep 11, 2007 at 03:22 Dear Shuja, ah, now ahadis and sirat is not valid? damm, lately it was.. so, and what it will be tomorow? so, you are this kind of embarassed moslem, who has some problem with hadiths (because of their controversy, they do not agree mutually what causes confusion), with Sirat (after reading Sirat, it is like to read a life of Stalin or Lenin, and moreover Ibn Ishaq did some autocensure, omitting the act, that could cause embarassment to moslems of those days- if those that are left are not enoug harsh.) - but, if you will declare hadis and sirat void, the quran alone is replete with contradictions, and even the abrogation theology system will be not very helpful. (btw - if there was no contradicton, no abrogation is needed, and the very abrogation business is tricky). but, whitout ahadits, you do not have even Shahada, you dont know how to pray... how to fast, how to do ablution..by supressing ahadits you create even more problems. so, you have a logical problem - on the one side, you want to prove the deep moral basis of islam (there are none, only such, that can be derived from a bunch of higwaymen) but hadis and Sirat is a heavy burden in this case. - because of high moral standards of others religions. - even the quran is a problem. As for islam - only one problem is with islam - islam asks 110 % tolerancy, showing 0% tolerancy toward other faiths and thoughts. Only islam can consider posing a ham sandwich near moslem schoolmate as a hate crime... as for atrocities - moslems are surely No.1. the holocaust committed by Nazis is only small fraction of atrocities, done by moslems in India.. they are slaughtered much more people than Nazis, and they were equipped with the up-to day technology (gas, modern weapons) i can cite you plenty moslem chronicles, bouncing with pride and showing their hands red of hindu blood. killing about 10 000 hindus was the right way to feast Eid. or Ramadan or other feast . btw - Afghanistan used to be a buddhist country. how many buddhist are there now? why? and all this is based upon ayas, with due tafsirs. if you want, i can cite you plenty of them.. why are only moslems doing beheadings of peaceful thai people, with their only crime to be buddhists? on the world, there is 22 conflicts, and moslems are not involved only in 2 of them. that is really the hallmark of peace. now, there is a problem of "decent" moslems (but, if he/she is paying zakat, it is indirect support of terorism, so they are involved in it), what to do with the all stuff? how to save the good parts of islam (if there are any)? that is your problem. blessings Esmeralda Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
