Dear Mr. Pipes,

Thank you for making available your speech, "Lawfull Islamism: the Greater Threat?". Fascinating.

The question you pose: suppose you are an Islamic strategist for a "Central Command", who's desire is a Caliphate (everything decided by the government in terms of it's understanding of Islam). What would be the best way to go about that? Terrorism alone has never changed a regime. Your answer to the question was:

The combination of lawful Islamism (working through the system) and violence (emphasis on the former).

You point out this has happened with Turkey, Bangledesh, Algeria and Palastine. I agree that here in the U.S.A "lawful" Islamism is a threat, well on it's way. Like an octopus, it's reaching into whatever orifice the generosity of this great country provides. However, the Islamism of the countries you mention did not have a semblance of the U.S. Declaration of Independance or The Constitution to contend with. To my thinking this has great bearing and relevancy.

What I'm thinking........if I'm an Islamic strategist, how about adding, specifically, the Leftist Party of America? The Communistic (Democratic) Socialistic "wing" in this country. That might just make up the difference. From the track record of lawfull Islamism in this country, this has already been a 'third wing' (1.lawfull Islamism 2.violence 3.Democratic Party), so to speak. The lawful Islamists are indeed working through the system with LOTS of help from Democrates. Even Hollywood has jumped on the Islamist's bandwagon (Rosie O'Donnal, Sean Penn and other divorced-from-reality ignoramuses; Charlie Sheen, quote: "Didn't you notice that the Twin Towers imploded? Like, as if professional demolition guys did the job?).

Thank you, Mr. Pipes, again for a very thought-provoking and informative speech. My hope is that our "Founding Fathers" provided protection in the event of an oxymoronic agenda of Islamism. This protection includes freedom of speech, which in turn includes your fabulous forum.

Sincerely, Jennifer Solis
