Mearsheimer on BBC InterviewReader comment on item: Learning from the Mearsheimer-Walt Fiasco Submitted by Martin Kessler (United States), Sep 22, 2007 at 23:24 My local PBS station rebroadcasts BBC News and this afternoon Mr Mearsheimer was interviewed together with another "expert" whose name I didn't catch but who argued against Mearsheimer positions. Mr. Mearsheimer believes the United States would not be controlled by an Israeli Lobby if only the occupation would end and a "Palestinian State established in the West bank" He did not mention or include Gaza. I thought that was revealing. I do not look for ghosts behind doors yet I cannot believe Mr.Mearsheimer is so stupid as to believe that the destruction of the state of Israel will no longer be an objective of the Arab community because a new Arab state is created. There has to be something else to explain his position other than stupidity.
