To Jennifer Solis: Sir Pipes' Audio Recording "Lawful Islam: The Greater Threat?" & NewsweekReader comment on item: Newsweek's Jaw-Dropping Erratum Submitted by Ynnatchkah (United States), Oct 25, 2007 at 20:10 Dear Jennifer Solis: First of all, Thank You. You are right. If you take into consideration: A. The Lawful Islam Dr. Pipes talks about at The Herzliah meeting as Islamists "...Working within the system is the most effective way."... http://www.danielpipes.org/article/4931 B. When Newsweek writes: "… (Dr. Pipes) Advocates for fighting Radical Islam, whether terroristic or Lawful"… Two possibilities come into my mind:
So did Newsweek take as a parameter Dr. Pipes' speech in Herzliah or Not as a base for their caption? I deeply hope I'm wrong, but I do NOT think that Newsweek took in consideration Dr. Pipes' Speech. Not b/c of my personal bias against the today media, but b/c it is very unlikely that a magazine not concerning itself about accuracy at all would devote time to listen to his speech, even for 11 minutes. Thanks, Ynnatchkah Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
