Amazing how quickly Bush ensured Annapolis was a net minusReader comment on item: What's Wrong With the Annapolis Conference Submitted by Charles Martel (United States), Nov 29, 2007 at 11:20 Few of us here doubted it would be at best a small humiliation and at worst something divisive between the US and Israel and a diplomatic plumb for the Palestinians. He is SUCH an idiot -- yet again he got himself in trouble by saying something he didn't need to. He could, for example, have just said "...confront terrorism and incitement" without saying which side might be doing anything. (Of course, since it is the Palestinians doing the terrorism and incitement, that would have been a clear slap at them by inference.) So, he could have just not said anything about what we're against, just pablum about "peace" and "understanding" and "coexistence". OR, best of all, he could have refrained from yet again using his position to put the US in the position of hapless world policeman and unappreciated do-gooder by not pursuing Annapolis at all.
