These pin-heads are scared

Reader comment on item: Militant Islam and the Middle East

As Daniel Pipes describes, a characteristic of Islamism is intolerance. Seems bad manners is prerequisite too.

In my opinion, what lies behind students jumping on the "jihad bandwagon" is fear. They see Islamism as anti-authority, which fits with their juvenile mindset; ironically, Islamism come to fruition would enslave them.

But at their core, they are afraid, they are cowards, and feel if they become a part of Islamism they will be important, their fear will diminish as they are now part of what as an outsider they fear, and that by simply (and simple-mindedly) agreeing with Islamism they will receive power, and be powerful.

This nation has bred a generation of wimps, who've had life easy, and when presented with a threat, as is Islamism, they are afraid. Fear blinds a person to truth.
