Comparing suicide/homocide acts with suicideReader comment on item: The Scourge of Suicide Terrorism Submitted by Judy Durham (United States), Jul 5, 2002 at 14:38 Daniel, Good article, however, I must differ with you on your comparison of the Islamic fundamentalist suicide bombers with WW I soldiers or IRA starvers. The soldiers and starvers took their OWN lives, however right or wrong they were..........the suicide bombers take others with them! I object to hearing them called suicide bombers, they are suicide/homocide bombers, taking civilian men, women, and children with them.Your comment "Suicide acts are not unknown in the West"......why you compare this with the Islamic Fundamentalists is a mystery to me. Think how different it would be if these fundamentalists in the Middle East sat in the public square and lite themselves on fire as a protest. It would be tragic but very different.
