Causus Belli?Reader comment on item: Deadly Denial [of Muslim Anti-Semitism] Submitted by Alo (Saudi Arabia), Oct 26, 2003 at 12:23 On the surface, your comments and viewpoints would seem to portray a realistic glimpse into the future. That is, that a new holocaust is in the making, not only for Jews in Israel and elsewhere, but for the denizens of western civilization in general.I can't deny that events of the last several years appear to point to such an eventuality. More and more what seems to be going on is indeed a clash and eventual convulsive battle between the West and Islam (a viewpoint I am aware you do not quite agree with). But the end result will be very different from what forecasters are predicting. For reasons I can't possibly go into here, it is in fact within the Islamic world that the next holocaust will make its appearance - a ferocious internal calamity that will render the Middle East totally impotent and only marginally important in future world affairs. Because of its geographical location, Israel will necessarily be involved in this upheaval, but it will not be the true focal point of this development. It will probably appear to be the causus belli, as it is now, but as with everything in the Middle East, what appears to be the case is almost always never so. Israel is the scapegoat of much larger but nearly invisible forces at work in that part of the world. What we are really witnessing is the calamitous collapse of Islam as a viable way of life...as a civilization.....despite events that appear to contraindicate and contradict such a viewpoint.
