Pipes' critique overdueReader comment on item: A History of the Arab Peoples Submitted by Dr Gautam Sen (United Kingdom), Nov 28, 2003 at 15:24 If Pipes found Hourani's Arab history more apology than fidelity I wonder how he would react to the endless reams of Stalinist apologia suggesting that the Muslim conquests of India created a golden age? Of course his government agrees with this extraordinary depiction because the Library of Congress has recently appointed one of these apologists of Islamic conquest to its most distinguished chair.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
