Freedom to threatenReader comment on item: Radical Islam vs. Academic Freedom: One Example Submitted by Ken Besig (United States), Apr 29, 2002 Dear Daniel Pipes, I am happy to see that academic freedom of the best kind is still alive and well in parts of America. I am deeply disturbed by the sort of invective directed at you, much of it poisonously anti Semitic. As you must be aware, these fundamentalist Islamics can be extremely dangerous, and while I am sure they would do their best to "disavow", after the fact, any of their followers who hurt you or worse, they would be sublimely happy to see the end of you. Here, they come right out and kill us. I hope that you are taking at least some simple precautions to protect yourself and your family. This is a serious matter, these people are capable of anything.
