Maybe Mr. Pipes FORGOT to review this.Reader comment on item: Struggling to Surrender: Some Impressions of an American Convert to Islam Submitted by ARIA (Indonesia), Jun 17, 2008 at 04:31 I've read the book. But there's something essential that what I think maybe Mr. Pipes forgot to review from this book. That was one of the reasons Jeffrey Lang converted to Islam. Pipes wrote " He found himself inching toward Islam through warm personal relations, then finally making the leap. It began easily: he tells of the "jubilation and relief" his conversion brought to his Muslim friends, followed by their hugs. In the earlier chapter of this book, jeffrey tells us about his mind and self struggling to find the more rational answers to his questions. Islamic Version :"And when thy Lord said unto the angels:Lo! I am about to place a viceroy in the earth, they said: wilt Thou place therein one who will do harm therein and shed blood, while we, we hymn Thy praise and sanctify Thee? He said: Surely I know that which ye know not." (QURAN chapter 2:verses 30) Quran Translation By Marmaduke Pickthall. Islamic version not emphasizing on the sin that Adam did, but instead emphasizing The noble task that God has given to human. PS : Sorry about my bad english and grammar.
