Reader comment on item: Barry Chamish, Holocaust Revisionist?

Submitted by Paul (United States), Jun 23, 2008 at 18:59

Dr. Pipes,

I was wondering if you would care to comment on your blog your assertion that rense.com is a neo nazi site. As I myself am a rabid anti nazi, and an avid reader of Mr. Rense's website, I cannot seem to reconcile the two. I have been reading his site for about 5 years Mr. Pipes, and cannot for the life of me find where Mr. Rense has ever endorsed the Nazi party, or any of its ideals. In point of fact I find him to be a stalwart defender of individual freedom, and the democratic process.

Perhaps you might want to re-think your smearing of him. I am well aware of his questioning whether or not 6 million jews perished in the concentration camps, however that does not by definition make him a nazi endorser. If you expect to be taken seriously I suggest you do a little more homework before smearing a good man with the label of neo nazi, you only do yourself a disservice.

I will be happy to retract my statement in this comment if you can provide me any instance of Mr. Rense endorsing totalitarianism in any of its forms.

I am not interested in receiving an email from you but for you to spell out on YOUR site the claim that you have made against this good man. To question history is not an endorsement of nazis, and I find your smearing of him to be very repugnant.

Paul

Daniel Pipes replies:

The writer of this note himself provides the evidence for my calling rense.com a neo-Nazi website, writing of its owner: "I am well aware of his questioning whether or not 6 million jews perished in the concentration camps." This "questioning" is a favorite and common ruse of Nazi apologists.
