MOMENTUMReader comment on item: Which Has More Islamist Terrorism, Europe or America? Submitted by Geno M. (United States), Jul 5, 2008 at 12:26 Anyone who has participated in, or even watched a football game understands the importance of momentum in deciding the contest's outcome. Often, the team with the greatest enthusiasm and sense of mission wins the day --- even if they lack the natural talent or brute strength of their opposition. It is this 'Will To Win' which is so lacking in the West today and so prevalent in our Islamic enemies. It is as though we have been afflicted by a collective amnesia, forgetting who we are and what we stand for. When confronted with a repressive, misogynist, atavistic concept like political Islam we should reject it. Immediately. Aggressively. And enthusiastically. How then is a clearly destructive and dangerous system like Islam allowed to make inroads in Great Britain, Australia, Canada, France, USA and elsewhere? Why do we sit politely with our hands folded and listen to those for whom our conquest constitutes their primary mission in life? Have we all become possessed with the spirit of Neville Chamberlain? Is there not a Winston Churchill among us? It is time we considered the consequence of our inaction. It is incumbent upon each of us to listen to the words of our enemies --- as articulated in the Quran, the Hadith & the Surah, where our fate is spelled out in unambiguous terms. Under Islam, there are but three choices. Conversion to Islam. Submission via dihimmitude. Or death. Geert Wilders has it right. Muslim immigration must be halted. Mosque building must be stopped. Tolerance for Islamic intolerance must cease. Reliance upon the myth of moderate Islam can no longer dictate policy. Either we take steps based on self--preservation, or our children and their children's children will suffer under the yoke of Sharia. The stakes could not be higher. Most importantly, ours is the side based in freedom, compassion, justice, humanity, science, literature, art, music, and all the other hallmarks of Western civilization. How can we allow all of this to be sacrificed on the alter of a barbaric 7th Century political faith. And why? Because we are afraid to fight? Because we have lost our way, or our self-worth? What possible reason do we have to quake and quiver in the face of Islam? We must remember who we are, where we come from, what we stand for, and why we are here. Ours is the culmination of four thousand years of human effort and invention. We stand at the cusp of unlocking the scientific secrets to the universe. Soon we will cure most --- if not all disease. Soon we will create almost limitless energy from waste. Soon we will journey to the stars. We've already begun. But we must also protect that which we have not earned, but have inherited from our parents and their parents. We are the living legacy for all who have come before us. We hold the seed for all who will come tomorrow. If we think about it like this we will understand why the certainty of free thought is never negotiable --- but sometimes worth fighting and even dying for.
