Reader comment on item: Edward W. Said: "Someone Named Daniel Pipes"

Submitted by Debbie (United States), Jul 14, 2008 at 10:04

I was totally surprised to read Edward Said's comments about Dr. Pipes, implying that he was second rate or unemployed. I have always thought Dr. Pipes was the one of the most renowned experts on Middle East studies, and that is the oppinion of many cable stations, scholars, and governments, who seek his advice.

The civilized world has a huge problem in dealing with these Islamists, because they do not acknowledge truth, and try to discredit anyone who has the facts. Edward Said's attempt to discredit Dr. Pipes, has only made him look foolish, because Dr. Pipes has educated the public with valuable, factual information.
