cry wolf and no one believes you when...

There is the aespoean fable about the boy who cried wolf falsely and laughed out the people who rushed to help him, but when the wolf really came and he cried out for protection, no one rushed out to his help.

What is the credibility (or whatever left-over thereof) of the conservatives, the right wingers, the bushists, the christian fundos, the rumsfelders, the bankers, the financiers, the big bosses etc. etc.?

Groucho Marx said : Honesty is the most important thing in life - if you can fake that one, then you have made it." One may also speak of credibility instead of honesty.

They (=we all) have lied "profitably" since the very begining of the so-called civilisation. Everyone distrusts everyone. Now pay for it.

The US civilisation is also based on many many lies. It was often only about making money - abstract money quantities on paper.

If capitalism had been about human rights then we would have had ten times as much capital or political support flowing to India than to China. Everything good that you send to Pakistan or China will only strengthen pakistani or chinese fascism, ethno-fascism and islamic imperialism.

Dont lament or panic. Just keep cool and peaceful. Dont fool yourself into thinking that anybody being voted or unvoted is going to make a difference.
