Anti Semitic books in Cairo

Reader comment on item: Cairene Book Covers

Submitted by Doris Guttentag (United States), Oct 27, 2008 at 16:03

In the latter part of 1970, I was visiting Cairo with my husband and two young sons. I was out of English reading material. I noted on a prominent street an English languish bookstore. I left my family outside while I browsed. To my horror every book that I picked up had horrible characatures out of the Adolph Streicher genre of Jews. All of these books were published in the USSR. I left without buying anything.
