Reply to Morocco is arabReader comment on item: Culture and Counterculture in Moroccan Politics Submitted by Anonymous (United States), Nov 25, 2008 at 09:16 Moroccans speak muslim? that doesn't even make sense. And Moroccans do NOT speak arabic. We speak Darija which is a mix of arabic, berber and french and is much closer related to berber than arabic. You don't go saying that Haitians speak french do you? You learn french in school if you live in Haiti just like you learn arabic if you live in Morocco. But arabic is NOT our language. If you knew ANY moroccan history you would understand that, ethnically, Morocco is NOT an Arab country. We are a Berber country ruled by an Arab-wannabe government.
