The Other Side of the Story

I would mourn Islam's passing. This is because I have many muslim friends and work colleagues who are good people. I am not a muslim myself.

... the majority of those who follow islam do so in a peaceful means fulfilling the true interpretation of the Koran rather than the distorted opinion of a few individual extremists. It surprises me immensely that those who feel so strongly against the terrorism facing our world seem to place blame on our fellow human beings assuming that all muslims fall under the islamist bracket rather than actually seeking a well-rounded muslim opinion and fighting against the key problems of terrorism, extremism and the will to ultimate power.

I am deeply saddened by the recent events in Mumbai and the acts of Al Queda. But I don't associate these events with the islam followed by those I know who seek personal spiritual fulfilment. I don't understand how the destruction of islam could do anything but cause further conflict and terrorism. Yes, political islam and extremist islam are causing terrible problems in our world but in order to overcome these problems, we need to attempt to understand rather than direct violence at innocent muslims who are as outraged by those who commit terrorism as you are.
