Eliyahu is a sweet and courageous JewReader comment on item: "Allahu Akbar" Means What, Exactly? Submitted by Yaacov Lefcoe (Israel), Nov 30, 2008 at 21:25 I've lived on Jewish settlements in Samaria, and lost good friends to terror---I have no love lost for the Islamist enemy. However having met Eliyahu McLean and seen what he does, I can say that I have nothing but respect for him. Yes he is super-idealistic, and yet he somehow succeeds in creating very interesting encounters between very different people. Do I think that this will ultimately make a real difference on a macro scale? I doubt it. But he is a brave man for traveling openly as a Jew to meet with Islamic leaders in hostile territory, and he speaks with such conquering sweetness and sincerity that you almost want to believe that he can make a difference in this way. May G-d protect him and guide his steps on his unique path. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
