in response to reader comment: Knights Templar and Freemasons

firstly..... masons are not the historical Knight Templars and can never be....as per the numerous still active Papal bulls....stating that Freemasonry is incompatible with Christianity...just a plain simple truth...ecumenical or not.

The Masons have trademarked the term though and are Knight Templars of Masonry...nothing to do with the Christian historical links.

Second this is further proven by the writing of (their then Freemason head of Scotland) Albert Mackey in chapter x of his published history of Scottish masonry in Scotland....he admits it's a false claim...and uses the information he has found on real Templars to invent the York rite ...based upon this found information.....about 1870 odd he published it.

Thirdly the Masons are not bad or evil people just because they are masons...

They just they do not have and can never can have true Templar links, they are very generous in charity and worthy of praise for these deeds though and have used a name they erroneously thought defunct to start a new group within their ranks.

As published in The Evening Times (P15, 9/12/1996) Vatican direction from 1979 (via the Vatican's Canon Johanes Becker) till today demands that any Templar Order be free of Masons.

The Vatican's Cardinal Ratzinger also specifically mentions neo-orders such as OSMTHU and the USA Masonic led OSMTH as never to be recognized in a 2007 edict.

OSMTH German HSE upheld the Masonic ban and so did Chef Mondial of OCMTH and finally so has SAE of the Portugese Order, as he is the current Head of OSMTH after his becoming the worldwide Royal Patron of the OSMTH group in 2008 upon the previous head's "retirement".

Many of the USA OSMTH were members of the Scottish Knight Templar (currently known as OCMTH) until 1964 when they left to become members of the Portuguese led OSMTH and then in the 1995 OSMTH group Schism brought about by concern due to increasing Masonic membership within the OSMTH group the Masonic led USA OSMTH was formed. The German HSE whilst refusing to recognise the leadership of Mason's and attending new breakaway council meeting ....refused to allow Masonic domination in the splinter group and held them up until 1997... The HSE then left them and the OSMTH USA was started without any legitimate Templar leadership and more importantly without any ancient directives...they just made their own up.

The German HSE has always been on good terms with original Scottish Knight Templar creating the International Federative Alliance which all refused to allow freemasons. This Masonic free policy was even the Public stance of the Original and ancient order of OSMTH until the SAE retirement in 2008, however his picture (The AE's) hangs in the Rosslyn Church where he is dressed in full Masonic regalia.

With the SAE's retirement and replacement by a Patron willing to not only espouse but uphold the Masonic ban...The German OSMTH Grand Prior has now returned alliances to the OSMTH due to Royal Patron banning and enforcing the immediate expulsion of any known freemasons in mid 2008.

It seems the Masonic Templars have been isolated into one neo-order based in the North American Continent that follows the Rtd. Rear Admiral. Rosicrucian freemasonry has been incorporated into neo - templar practices by this group but is widely and roundly discredited as having any ancient Templar origins as it is pagan worship at its core. John Valentin Andrea (1586-1654). According to his own admission, Andrea composed in the first years of 1600 their supposed ancient Rosicrucian book http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/13193b.htm

Freemasonry has invested many titles and badges into these new clubs but has no claim to any form of ancient ownership/membership of anything to do with Templars.

Templars don't claim to have any great secrets....or badge collections.

The Chinon document was "discovered" in the Vatican Libraries after a filing error occurred hundreds of years ago, This discovery proves the Templars were forgiven and innocent. However as the knights fled to Crete/ Malta /Scotland and Portugal there were not many to forgive.

It's not too surprising noting the kidnapping of the Pope previously and the moving of the Vatican to France during this period. Phillip the Fair (IV) used his power most injudiciously.

The cunning forgery "The Charter of Larmenius" of supposed 1314 listing masons within the fold..was examined by the British Library and a French research group and declared a fake (and penned probably in the late 1800's by the language) and then given to the Freemason's of London as a curiosity paper.

The Rosslyn chapel was built too late and the builder the Catholic head of the St Clair (some say Sinclair) family actually testified against the Templars along with his son (his families testimony was found to be false by the King and those accused knights were released)...he was not, and the chapel never was anything to do with Templarism, quite the opposite in fact. This chapel also has many Masonic symbols and even "the green man" a pagan symbol predating Christianity...it is just a family built chapel but it is wonderful in an architectural sense, truely a hotchpotch of symbols and the reader gets to apply specific relevance at their peril... They also have a Gnostic version of Templars claiming to be Scottish Knight Templars (skt) and if viewed as allied to the Masonic Scottish york rite of freemasonry then maybe their claim has some credence...but they are definitely not linked or recognised by the True Orders. They would sell courses and actually claim St Clair (now called Sinclair) was a prince! http://gnosis.org/welcome.html is a good site to see the aims of the Gnostic movement.

This is true of most false mystery claims surrounding Templars, At the time of construction masonry was still a guild and not the influence club it was to evolve into (in the 1700's) six hundred years after the start of Templarism.

(Ps. The knights with crossed legs were close friends of Templars or had done good deeds for Templars...they were not invested Templars and also Rosslyn was not their original burial place. Many seem confused by this also.)
