let Arabs sort themselves outReader comment on item: Is an Iraqi Strongman Emerging? Submitted by Yuval Brandstetter MD (Israel), May 17, 2004 at 14:29 The wish for law and order is stronger than the wish for lofty ideas.Without wielding power brutally, as expected of a true Arab leader, the clannishness and tribalism and sectarianism of an Arab country cannot be pacified. It is falling apart because Bashar Assad is unable to use the full extent of brutality his father did. America should break iraq into its constituent parts, and get out, letting the Arabs settle things in the Typical Arab way, uncensored brutality.
