Truth or conspiracy?Reader comment on item: More Incidents of Denying Islamist Terrorism Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Apr 25, 2009 at 15:25 There are so many incidences that we will never know the whys and wherefores of, whether or not they were just accidents or sabotage; Dr. Pipes states "Some airplane incidences might have been whitewashed." That could certainly be true, and there is still a lot of interest in flight AA587. A certain reader commented on this website (http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/113750) that it is proven that the tail fell off the plane. But has that been truly proven? And was there an Al-q'eda operative involved? Another site is http://www.rockawave.com/news/2005/0408/Editorial/138.html , that claims that it was "delaminations in the rudders" that caused the crash. We may never know exactly what happened, but we can assume that even in this country there are cover-ups. It very well could have been Islamist terrorism, but proving this is also a mammoth task, and the results of any investigation may end up in a closed file.
