The Destructive Force of Religious Zealotry

Reader comment on item: The Left vs. the Islamists

Submitted by Harry L. Scott (United States), Apr 30, 2009 at 21:24

Palestinians have historically been secular. They are now much more religiously zealous. They are now much more resistant to settling anything with Israel. What contributed to this ominous development? It was the settlement policy driven by religiously zealous Israelis. The prospect? Somewhere between dim and hopeless. I suggest reading Benny Morris' book 1948.
