Book is Dated and Further Research Has Proven Much of it WrongReader comment on item: The Melungeons: The Resurrection of a Proud People: An Untold Story of Ethnic Cleansing in America Submitted by History Chaser (United States), Jun 11, 2009 at 10:01 After a lengthy and detailed study of this subject I discovered that there was no big drop off of Muslim or any other persons on Roanoke Island in 1586. Read David Beers Quinn and Ivor Noel Hume the two most imminent "Lost Colony" authors. Additionally the gene study showed a considerable distance from Turkey; and the so-called Melungeon diseases and traits have also been thoroughly debunked. See http://historical-melungeons.blogspot.com/ and Lost Colony Blog.
