Why negative? Because...
Reader comment on item: Islamists - Not Who They Say They Are

because it is important that evil be exposed. It is not "hatred" to tell the truth, even when the truth is negative.
And it is not a problem for "ourselves," when we expose negative traits of other groups -- it is a problem that THEY own, and that we are reporting on.
