Arafat, Disorder, and DollarsReader comment on item: Palestinian Descent into Chaos Submitted by rita kaplan (United States), Jul 20, 2004 at 12:05 Dear Mr. Pipes,Your comments and columns are always excellent. Thank you for your passion and devotion to this subject. I have had trouble finding the full report recently presented by the Norwegian to the Security Council in reference to the Palestinian Authority. Could you possibly print it out? It really has not been given adequate circulation and publicity by most press outlets. Since the Washington Post described the PA condition as "broke," and I assume they are referring to a financial situation not just a psychological one, could you disseminate information regarding the staggering totals of money that have been poured into the PA from all the different sources, especially in the last ten years. Where is it? How many hospitals and schools have been built?. It also might be interesting to compare what Israel accomplished ten years after it got its shaky independence --- and what the PA accomplished during the ten years of its governance. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
