No Hebrew-speaking Arabs?Reader comment on item: American Taxpayer Money Spent on Eradicating Hebrew-Language Street Signs Submitted by DerekBa (Canada), Oct 2, 2009 at 17:28 Some of the 500,000 or more Jews that were driven out of Muslim Arab countries in a fit of "tolerance" after 1948 must have been Arab (in Yemen for example) and some probably spoke Hebrew...Likewise, there are Jews that do not speak Hebrew. But, yes, you missed the point -- one is that the money could be better used to educate Muslims in the territories (presumably Muslim men, not women) or for health care or for all those other things that a normal civilized society needs. As well, the new state will be Israel's neighbor...Actually, if you think spending this kind of money redoing signage is OK, then what is the point of further comment on my part. Another example of Islamic tolerance.Next time a Palestinian Arab Muslim asks what the USA has ever done for his people, he can be reminded that the Hebrew-free signs are courtesy of the Great Satan. ; ) Efficiency.
