We still have a lot to learn about Nidal Malik Hasan. Hopefully he will survive and will stand trial. In this short time we have seen a wide range of reactions both good and bad, accurate and inaccurate. It is important for us as a pluralistic, diverse nation to understand these events and to process them in a way that is fair and reasonable, not because it is good for American Muslims, but because our future ability to coexist in peace depends on it.
