Very stupid arsonistReader comment on item: [Fake] "Islamophobic Prejudice" and CAIR Submitted by a.festine (United States), Aug 27, 2004 at 15:17 As an attorney who has been involved in a couple of cases (both civil and criminal) over the years in which arson was alleged, I was very amused by your article. If the allegations against Mr. Akram are true-he is not just an Muslim arsonist with an actual or perceived persecution complex- but a very stupid one indeed. When gasoline is used as an accellerant, it leaves a petroleum based residue in the burnt rubble which is easily detected via laboratory tests. It is the first thing that a seasoned insurance investigator looks for. Any arsonist with a modicum of intelligence devises a more creative way to start the fire, and ensure that it spreads quickly enough to cause damage. They never use gasoline.
