MahatmaReader comment on item: Can the Palestinians Learn from the Movie "Gandhi"? Submitted by Gandhian (India), Feb 21, 2010 at 06:39 Mahatma Gandhiji was experimenting with "truth". He opted for non-violence. But one must consider whom are his oppressors were. Mahatma opted non-violence aggression against the British, because he knew the British were gentlemen. So they sorted out things like gentlemen did. But here we are dealing with a fiend. I can show you an example. In late 17th century... Aurangazeb the most tyrannical Mughal issued the bill ..."Islam or Death". He first experimented in Kashmir. The properties of Kashmiri Sikhs and Hindus were confiscated. He also issued a deadline to embrace Islam. The deadline reached. The Hindus and Sikhs under the leadership of Pandit Kirparam pleaded to the 9th Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bhadur. The Guru along with two of his most loyal disciples (Mati Das and Sati Das) went to Agra... He did not gather any army with him. He just filed a petition in Agra court in a peaceful way. Do you know what happened then? The Guru was tortured to death. His body was cremated at one place and his head was cremated at another place. Do you know why he was tortured? He refused to accept Islam. And about the two disciples. Such is the greatest quality of moslems. Had the oppressors not been the British, Mahatma Gandhiji would have opted for a Dharam Yudh (Righteous War) against the Moslems. So we must learn one thing.
