Missing the point?Reader comment on item: [Khobar Rampage:] "Don't Be Afraid, We Won't Kill Muslims" Submitted by Zester Hatfield (United States), Sep 14, 2004 at 10:51 Dear Daniel,There is good research on your site. I appreciate it to know and teach more correctly the enemy we face. However, I believe you are missing the point about those of us that you call Christians. Remembering that the word Christian was first used by the Romans as a curse word to describe those who believed in Christ and claimed Him as the only true God, only begotten Son of Jehovah God the creator of the world and all things created. Those of us in the world now, before and hereafter, who believe in Christ as Savior do so because of an unmerited gift of faith given to us by God. The greatest mystery of God is that He became incarnate that He might offer the one and only pure and perfect sacrifice for the sins of those whom He would save, Himself. The second greatest mystery is why He saves any of us. This gift of faith is given because He chooses to give it, it is of Him and not of men, nor can any deserve it lest they should boast. Rome did not care that they believed in Christ or any number of other gods, what infuriated the Romans is that they did not include Cesar as one of those gods. To Romans of the time, to not be pantheistic was to be an atheist. Many first century Christians went to their deaths in the arena refusing to simply add Cesar, as also one of their gods. To admit to any acceptance of Allah, a false god, is to deny Christ. It is much better to die being faithful to the one who will also raise you from the dead to see your persecutors punished forever, than to gain a few more years of life in a decaying and dying biological body. Those who have the gift of faith know that we will be resurrected because His righteousness is imputed to us and we are the product of His saving grace not our good works. The god of the Muslims is totally works oriented. He gives them nothing but death. In fact the only way a Muslim can be assured of his heaven is to die in jihad. My death or the death of millions of Christians will not stop the Kingdom of our God from prevailing over all of the forces of evil on the earth. There is coming a day when any where in the world, he who is a hundred years old and does not know Christ as Savior will be considered a fool and he who dies at a hundred will be considered a child. Thank you for your instruction in things of Islam and the Muslims. Zester Hatfield, President Reformation Ministries International. Corp.
