traffic lights and neighborhoodsReader comment on item: The Unique Assault on Israel Submitted by Yuval Brandstetter MD (Israel), May 13, 2010 at 10:48 Cars approach the intersection on one side from the Jewish neighborhoods of Mea She'arim (Moshe Sacks St.) and on the other side from the predominantly Arab neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah (Van Paassen St). Both encounter a 15-second green light and a one-minute-23-second red light. All it means is that both neighborhoods are Jewish. The so called Sheik Jarach neighborhood is actually Simon the Righteous neighborhood, full of Jewish habitations invaded by Arabs following the 1929 massacre of hebron jews. Now this Jewish neighborhood is re-invested with its original inhabittants. Harkening back to Karl Marx 1854 the majority of Jerusalem's residents were jews, living in absolute squalor under the minority Arab rulers iron boot.
