Refugee status for all people living in Islamic majority regions of the worldReader comment on item: Jewish Life in an Increasingly Muslim Europe Submitted by Ted (United States), Jul 12, 2010 at 23:32 Dear Dr Pipes: Assemblyman Dov Hikind's 2007 call for granting special refugee status to European Jews is absolutely on target. In fact, if you are a non-Islamic person living within a Islamic majority geographical region (even a small region inside an otherwise secular state), you should be allowed a refugee status. Besides the European Jews, consider the plight of tiny Hindu and Christian minorities in Pakistan, Hindus in India's own Kashmir, the plight of Coptic Christians of Egypt, the plight of Christians in northern Nigeria. All these are examples of the fact that if you are different you are not welcome in Islamic regions.
