An Open letter to Luis Farrakhan

Dear Minister Farrakhan,

Accusations against the people and State of Israel

My name is Sirajin Munirr Rollings-Kamara, a black African living in Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa. Sorry that I have to be detailed in my description as I am sure that you have never been to Sierra Leone or heard about it. It is a small country bothered by Guinea and Liberia. Well if still not enough, it is not too far from Ghana, a country you visited in 1998 with Jermaine Jackson, elder brother of the late Michael Jackson. By the way I was there and was among those who welcomed you.

I have an issue with you. And that has to do with your statement that Jews (Israel) are responsible for the present predicaments of the black race. Mr. Minister, this statement is unfounded untold and uncouth. I would be grateful however if you will explain this to a black African like me so that I understand you better.

Whilst awaiting your response, could you please reflect and answer some of these concerns?

1. What is the link between the Nation of Islam and the African continent?

2. What have you achieved through your Nation that has benefitted the African continent in any little way?

3. In Ghana, people were expecting you to lead a reparation package for the over 20 million slaves taken from West Africa alone to the slave world. It is over 12 years since that visit, and you have done nothing. I wonder if you ever think of that since you left Ghana.

4. How is your Nation of Islam working with 'your black brothers' to achieving the Millennium Development Goals? Have you ever advocated for Africa's debt to the IMF/World Bank?

5. Could the Nation of Islam advocates and evacuates thousands of black Africans to the United States of America as did the Israel that evacuated over 10,000 black Israelis from Ethiopia to Israel? Remember, black Africans were taken to the Americas to work in those plantations. It is high time we are remembered. Have you thought about this? This is what Africans want to see or hear.

However your mission is primarily seen to promote Islam, having been funded by Islamic fanatics and other extreme groups. Promoting Islam is not a black thing. You should know by now that Africa's religion is neither Islam, nor Christianity. If you want to be an evangelist for the propagation of Islam, come out frankly and do that. You must stop hiding behind the black race you say you belong to. As an African we are tired of gimmicks from people like you. You want those Islamic fanatics to pour money into your movement; and the only way to do so is to attack Israel. You really need to tell me how Israel spoiled the black race that you are 'mending' today.

What has the Nation of Islam done to quell the crisis in Somalia? What have you done to ever ask Omar Al-Bashir of Sudan to stop killing our black African brothers? What about the crisis in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Congo, etc. Are you a black man who never feels for your fellow blacks? If you ever feel, what did you or the nation of Islam do?

Some history here: Did you know why Hitler killed 6 million Jews? The Jews that you called white were never. Hitler saw them as inferior color- close to black, yet they were excelling over Hitler's Arian race. The Jews suffered because they looked like the black people you purport to be 'fighting' for.

Jews were slaves to Africans (Egypt) and not the other way round. So who should be throwing aspersions? Israelis have all rights to ask for reparation for the way our Egyptian African brothers treated them.

You went to Barbados and bought the place the young men were using as Youth Center and built a mosque there. How many Barbadian did you help by that action?

I should stop here and cordially invite you to a debate. I will prove to you that you are not promoting the interest of the Black race; and that you have a lot heresies within your messages. And that you are completely anti-Semitic; and that you are being fuelled by enemies of the State of Israel to cause dissention. I welcome an open debate anywhere anytime.

But may Allah that you worship cause you to know the truth and speak it with all sincerity. Remember the truth is still true, no matter the many against it.
