An answer to an important questionReader comment on item: Terrorists Read Me Submitted by Straight_Talk_Luigi (United States), Aug 12, 2010 at 19:09 (3) This subscription gives new urgency to the concerns I addressed at "Am I Helping the Terrorist Enemy?" and I hereby rededicate myself to assuring that the Middle East Forum does not inadvertently provide guidance to the country's foes.I have been blogging on this site consistently since 2008, namely on the subject of Non-Muslim women marrying Muslim Men. I have wondered sometimes also if the advice I give helps those who are doing opposition research. After careful deliberation, I really do think that the information on this site helps to prevent the spread of terrorism and educates people on issues about the Middle East that they would not otherwise hear about. I think we can safely say that the politically correct media is not going to report on the speeches of Louis Farakkan or the fact that a dentist in the UK wanted his female patients to wear a burka. The fact of the matter is that whenever you put something on the internet, you are going to have people who are going to be doing opposition research. The only sure to stop it is to not say anything, But if you do that, then they win. You can spend hours and hours meandering over the right things to say, but it's really not worth the time. While the idea that two terrorists did subscribe and read the site, I suspect that most doing opposition research are quite harmless by comparison. At least, those are my impressions as an experienced blogger. Now, if this were the US Army or Navy site, then obviously measures would need to be taken to safeguard certain information. Shortly after the 9-11 attacks, I did a search and noticed that the US military had shut down all of their sites. However, this site provides information, not an agenda or leaked information for terrorists. I sincerely doubt there's nothing on here they don't already know. As far as providing guidance to them, from the staff articles and comments I have seen, it shows them that they are not going to be able to walk all over us unopposed. If anything, more people should get involved with this site. It's one of the few that has decent discussion and is actually worth the time reading and posting.
