an excerise in futilityReader comment on item: Discussion of Issues in a Jerusalem Forum Submitted by Jules Posten (United States), Sep 28, 2010 at 09:46 every time i pick up my news paper or turn on my tv, i contantly bombarded by the amount of fault finding directed towards The State iof Israel. from all this you would surmise that Israel is the very source of all the woes of the Middle East. you have a tiny state surrounded by implacable enemies, yet Israel seems to be picking fights with all these enemies. as regards the current state of negotations with the so called refugees, if Israel would simply accede to every one of their demands, no matter how outrageous, peace will suddenly break out in the are. what a complete crock, no matter how much Israel is willing to sacrifice for a more normal life, it will never be enough. what Israel's foe want to ensure their definition of peace is for Israel and its Jews to disappear from the face of the earth. once that occurs then these warring nations can go back to killing each other, bcause they will no longer have Israel to attack and defame. one thing is certain however. even though it rankles most of the "civilized" world and all of their Muslim foes, Israel just refuses to go away. they built a homeland for all Jews out of sand and swamp and they regard it as the fufillment of GoD's promise. the land of Israel belongs to them and they will defend it to the last.
