Reader comment on item: Who Is the Enemy?

Submitted by Greg Zotta (United States), Apr 1, 2011 at 05:37

Al-Qaeda is a terrorist organization and an enemy of the United States. They are part of the Libyan "rebels" fighting Ghaddafi. There has been talk by the Obama Administration of wanting to arm these rebels. Article three, Section Three of the U.S. Constitution states, "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." If the Obama Administration does decide to arm Al-Qaeda, wouldn't they be guilty of Treason by giving Aid to our enemy?
