Why does Britain lag behind?Reader comment on item: Europe's Anti-Islamic Parties on the Move Submitted by Stuart Fagin (United States), Apr 20, 2011 at 00:08 Britain is conspicuous by its absence in the Der Spiegel map, despite a strong Islamist presence. Probably the regional, FPP, parliamentary system characteristic of the Commonwealth nations (in contrast to the more common national party-list format) inhibits the ability of new parties to germinate. Barring this, does there exist today a backbench cohort of "troublesome young men" within the Tory party that opposes Islamization? Or have we not gotten even this far?
