Good analogy Koran : Islam :: Jesus : Christianity

The phrase "Koran : Islam :: Jesus : Christianity" is SAT notation, and translates to "the Koran is to Islam as Jesus is to Christianity." I think this is an excellent analogy that Dr. Pipes should develop more fully, use more often, and blog about. It helps clarify many things, such as why re-interpreting the Koran will be much harder than re-interpreting the Bible.

Agreed. I first read of this parallel in the writings of Wilfred Cantwell Smith and have made this point many times.
