The Dinner

Dr. Pipes,

===iftar (breaking-the-Ramadan-fast) dinner===

Is this actually appropriate? Should we have a Christian or Jewish dinner or Hindu dinner as well in the White House? I do not know. Is there a reason why there is only a White House dinner for Muslims? Is it because they command greater respect because they are a threat? Or, is it in line with that you have been saying and that is we should as much as possible help moderate Muslims because they are the solution? It just seems to me that such special arrangemensts are not an expression of our nation's high ideals which is separation of church and state.
