Reader comment on item: The Center for American Progress Gets the Financials Wrong

Dear Dr Pipes:

What is wrong with liberal thinking? As long as left can find one execuse for a wrong doer's actions, they will absolve them of all responsibilities. It is because of that Islamists find so many supporters among the liberals. If Islamic terroroists kill some innocent people, they can be forgiven because some of them are poor. If Pakistanis are killing each other, they can be forgiven because United States supported the Talibans against Russia about three decades ago. If the number of religious fundamentalists in Egypt is large, it is because the society is not educated due to past instances of colonialism. The list can go on and on. The good guy has to be 100% perfect before the bad guy will be held responsible for even 1% of the blame. So goes the liberal thinking.
