The trigger-happy Mr. Ramadan

There is a ridiculous and sad element to this comical story, which is, that Mr. Ramadan shares this angst and unfair attitude toward Dr. Pipes with others like him. What was supposed to be a legitimate debate, Ramadan tried to turn into a personal attack on Dr. Pipes, who, as most of the knowledgeable public knows, has a quite an edge over other Middle East scholars.

However, as we have seen, the joke was on Ramadan. Dr. Pipes handled this situation with aplomb and a sense of humor. If this debate had been broadcast on U.S. television, would the attitude of the public have been negative toward Islam? Of course, that's only if Mr. Ramadan has promoted himself as the epitome of his religion. One wonders. . .
