How Will The Majority of Jews Vote: Will They Vote For A Tea Party GOP Candidate Like Romney With All of His Gaffes?Reader comment on item: Romney's Remarkable Speech in Jerusalem Submitted by Rex Bouvier (United States), Jul 31, 2012 at 15:23 If anyone has any questions about how the Jews will inevitably vote, I would strongly advise Mr. Pipes's readers to visit the web site of the ADL: http://www.adl.org/civil_rights/immigration.asp The majority of American Jews have a natural, visceral aversion to the agenda of the right wing in the United States. The ADL has consistently upheld the civil liberties and constitutional rights of all, including Arab Muslim Americans, as they should. Romney's remark, insinuating that the "Jewish culture was somehow superior to the Palestinian Arab culture" was defined equally by both groups as not only racist, but also anti-Semitic. The Jewish Americans are frightened by the Evangelical Christian fundamentalist agenda, being promoted by the GOP. This extremist, fundamentalist agenda is likened by the Jews to the one promoted by Senator McCarthy, which literally destroyed the lives of thousands of American Jews. It is also the agenda promoted by the Evangelical Christian Church, which supported, promoted, and helped prop up the Nazi Party and the Third Reich. On a lighter note, wealthy right-wing Jewish Americans like Adelson and Singer are hoping by supporting and electing a GOP candidate, who promises to further de-regulate (de-criminalize) "big government," they hope to avoid prosecution for breaking U.S. laws in connection to bribing foreign government officials and paying bribes to local gangs and mobsters in various foreign lands. Singer is also guilty of insider trading. Adelson and Singer are both guilty of evading the payment of taxes, while the rest of us pay our taxes in addition to compensating for those, who do not pay their taxes like Adelson and Singer. Romney continues to refuse to disclose the minimum of traditional tax releases, which every candidate has, so far, done. After comprehensively reading through the ADL web site, how many of you, who are non-Jews, still think that you have anything in common with the majority of the Jewish people? The Jewish people are an exceptionally intellectual bunch, and we will not be used to promote or support a most dubious, malefic agenda of the GOP. We don't discriminate against those, who are different than ourselves, because their language, religion, and skin color perhaps is different than ours. Remember, there are millions of Jews, who are not Caucasian. I personally helped raise hundreds-of-thousands-of-dollars in 1990 to facilitate the airlift of thousands of Ethiopian Jews. Upon my visit in 1998, I was so proud to see a most heterogenous population. It's boring and not very becoming to one's character to want to continually look in the mirror and admire oneself. When I sit in a bus or cafe in Israel, I want to see a melange of individuals, who all speak in different native languages. In Israel, it is not uncommon for the average citizen to have a language proficiency in three different languages -- just like the grandparents of the baby boomers, who spoke at least three languages. Ironically, the average Palestinian Arab of 50 years of age and younger, who has graduated from high school and studied the English language, has a much better command and proficiency of the language than most Americans, who have graduated from high school. In fact, most Palestinian Arabs of East Jerusalem have a much, much better command of the Hebrew language in addition to the English language. Many Palestinian Arabs continue their educations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem by completing undergraduate and multiple graduate degrees in addition to those, who wish only to partake in adult classes to improve their Hebrew and English language skills. How many American adults take adult classes to improve their English language skills and to acquire basic foreign language skills? How many public school districts and universities in the U.S. offer such adult classes to the general public for free or a minimal, affordable fee? In the EU, most people of 50 years or younger speak at least one foreign language in addition to their native tongue. If one wants to compete in the modern world, one must invest in public education and public health. This runs in deep contrast and counter to the ideology and basic principles now promoted by the Tea Party GOP agenda. The average American has nothing in common with Romney's world. Most lawyers today remember the AMPAD binders and legal pads. AMPAD was sold in all university bookstores across the country. AMPAD was an American tradition like Crane. Luckily, Crane has been spared the right-wing extremist agenda, since its paper is used for our currency. As a final note, one of Romney's own sons believes his father should not be again running for the presidency -- the son, the doctor. Considering Romney has been running for the office of the presidency for the past consecutive twelve years, he has thus far made too many very serious gaffes. It's like settling for a pair of inferior-made Chinese copies of the Timberland work boot, when one is used to wearing combat and motorcycle boots manufactured by Prada and Gucci. Submitting....

Daniel Pipes replies: This whole diatribe is directed toward Jewish voters yet I believe that Romney's pro-Israel stance is primarily directed toward conservatives, so we're on different tracks.
